At Poodle, we’re committed to providing an excellent email API experience specifically designed for product engineers. To maintain the integrity of our platform and ensure optimal deliverability for all users, we’ve established this Acceptable Use Policy.
Email deliverability is a collective effort. Our platform’s reputation directly affects your email performance, so we enforce guidelines to prevent misuse that could compromise deliverability or violate applicable laws.
To maintain high deliverability rates, all email sending must maintain the following metrics:
- Your complaint rate must remain below 0.08%
- Your bounce rate must remain below 4%
If your metrics exceed these thresholds, your account may be suspended or terminated without prior notice.
The following sending behaviors are strictly prohibited:
- Spamming: Sending unsolicited, non-personalized mass messages without prior consent
- Phishing: Sending fraudulent emails that attempt to steal information or misrepresent your identity
- Illegal Activities: Using the service to promote or distribute content related to illegal activities
- Low Quality Content: Sending messages resulting in high bounce or complaint rates
- Malicious Content: Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code through our platform
- Harassment: Using our service to harass, intimidate, or threaten any individual or group
- Interference: Sending messages in a manner that could disable, overburden, or impair our platform or other services
You may not use our service to send emails containing the following content:
- Content that violates CAN-SPAM, GDPR, or any applicable local laws and regulations
- Pornography or sexually explicit content
- Pharmaceutical product promotions
- Gambling services or products
- Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
- “Get rich quick” opportunities
- Credit repair and debt relief services
- Payday loan services
- List broker or list rental services
- Selling social media engagement (“Likes” or followers)
- Content related to dating or escort services
- Any other content that, in our sole discretion, may harm our reputation or deliverability
All recipients on your mailing lists must have explicitly given you permission (opted-in) to send them emails. If you send emails to recipients who haven’t explicitly opted in, you must:
- Include a valid physical address and company name in every email
- Clearly disclose why you are contacting the recipient
- Provide an easy, one-click unsubscribe option and honor opt-out requests within 7 days
- Ensure your message provides value to the recipient
- Use business/organizational email addresses rather than personal addresses
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing email communications
Users are expressly forbidden from:
- Creating or using multiple accounts to circumvent any quotas or limitations
- Sharing account credentials with unauthorized users
- Attempting to bypass security measures or access restrictions
- Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to extract data from our platform without explicit permission
We reserve the right to:
- Monitor your account for compliance with this policy
- Temporarily suspend or permanently terminate your account for violations
- Remove or disable access to any content that violates this policy
- Take appropriate legal action for serious violations
Depending on the severity of the violation and your cooperation, we may work with you to address issues before service disruption. However, refunds will not be issued for breaches of our Acceptable Use Policy or for partial quota usage after emails have been sent.
If you become aware of any violation of this Policy, please contact us at [email protected].
We may update this Policy from time to time by posting an updated version on our website. Your continued use of our services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the modified Policy. We recommend reviewing this Policy periodically to stay informed of any changes.
